Oliver Balaburski studied conducting at Sts. Cyril and Methodius University in
Macedonia and at the Royal College of Music in London, England. He has held
positions as Principal Conductor and Artistic Manager of the Opera Macedonian
National Theatre, and he has worked with many distinguished orchestras and
ensembles throughout the world.

Emily Jurman has performed extensively in various music festivals throughout the
province. A former winner of the Brampton Caledon Music Festival, her awards also
include the Peel Music Festival Scholarship as well as the Canadian Contemporary
Showcase Scholarship.

Melissa Pasia has been teaching piano and theory to individuals of all ages for a number
of years. She has also performed extensively in various recitals and festivals around
Ontario and continues to do so today. A Child Psychology graduate from the University of
Toronto, Mrs. Pasia is a wonderfully gifted teacher with an abundance of experience in
dealing with children in numerous capacities.

Sarah Powers has studied violin since the age of eight including stops at Wilfrid Laurier
University in Waterloo, with Leo Wigdorchuk in Toronto and through the Orchestral Training
Program at the Royal Conservatory of Music. She has performed in recitals in Waterloo and
continues to perform regularly in the GTA. Mrs. Powers’ extensive educational background,
teaching and performing experience as well as her overall passion for music continues to
contribute to her strong musicianship and effective teaching style.

performance experience includes various recitals in Mississauga as well as ensemble work
